Now Davis slams Santa Cruz to the canvas and gets a warning from the referee. Davis misses on a couple of counters that fall short. Davis steps back as he tries to walk Santa Cruz into something big. Santa Cruz throws a combination that mostly misses. Round 2: Santa Cruz stalks forward slowly and throws a right hook that partially lands on Davis. I’m going to edge this first round to Davis since that wasn’t ruled a knockdown, he did more damage. Charge from Santa Cruz puts Davis on his ass but the referee rules it a slip! Santa Cruz throws a combination that mostly doesn’t land. Santa Cruz on the back foot now, looking for counter opportunites. Davis comes forward and takes a jab from Santa Cruz.
